Our counselling programme is available for people living with epilepsy and to members of their family/whanau who support them.
We offer 4 – 6 free counselling sessions per person.
Counselling is different from talking to a friend – the time is all yours to talk about what is important to you. Coming to counselling means you have decided to explore new ways of dealing with what life is offering. Counselling offers an opportunity to talk to someone in a safe and confidential environment, who will listen without judgement and who can help you develop new tools.
Our counselling programme is delivered in three ways:
- Face to Face within the Auckland region
- Telephone/Skype counselling nationwide
- Group and individual counselling at Talk Talk Retreats which combine counselling with other social and creative activities.
Mavis Seymour, a full member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors, is a qualified counsellor with more than 20 years experience.

Mavis is uniquely qualified to work with people with epilepsy and their families as she has lived experience through her son who has cerebral palsy and chronic epilepsy.
